Below is an email I recieved from a local business, the text in italics is written by me. If you get sent this email as a word document you can download my reply to send back to the person that forwarded this to you using the link at the bottom of the page.

This is important read, save St George save England.

After many cities not wanting to offend other cultures by putting up Christmas lights.

.....After hearing that the Birmingham council changed its opinion and let a Muslim woman have her picture on her driver's licence with her face covered.
Nah, that was in American - http://tinyurl.com/y7lxud   Also, since when did Birmingham City Council start giving out driving licenses, I know it’s a big city but home come it gets to bypass the DVLA?

.....After hearing of a Primary School in Birmingham where a boy was told that for PE they could wear Football League shirts (Aston Villa, Birmingham, West Brom etc) but NOT an England shirt as it could offend others!

This prompted the editorial below written by a UK citizen & published in a British tabloid newspaper.
Oh gawd, that’s not a good start is it, you don’t mention what newspaper but I’m pretty sure it would be the hate filled right wing thinly veiled nationalist bog paper of lies called the Daily Mail

IMMIGRANTS, NOT BRITONS MUST ADAPT.
Chances are we wouldn’t have roads, money or sewerage if it wasn’t for ‘Immigrants’ called the Romans, I don’t have a problem with using a toilet, are you implying that you do?

Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on London, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Brits.
Really?  I can’t find much evidence bar dumb emails like this being sent around, sending an email isn’t exactly passionately pro active is it?

However, the dust from the attacks has barely settled and the politically correct" crowd begin complaining about the possibility that our patriotism is offending others.
I prefer to call them ‘free thinkers’ , and ‘the considerate’.

I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Britain.
Really?  I beg to differ...
However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of London being a multicultural centre for community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity.
Not really, our ‘sovereignty’ in the proper sense of the word was gradually diluted in a process starting at the start of the last millennium with the creation of the Magna Carter on June 15th 1215.  King John was losing control of the country and to placate the barons that were increasingly looking like gaining power he agreed to share power as a compromise. A lot of ‘British’ nobility was French. This dilution was taken a step further by the dissolution of the monarchy and the establishment of the Commonwealth in 1649. Remember the commonwealth?  That thing Britain maintained with invasion and slaughter?  So it’s taken around one thousand years to ‘dilute’ sovereignty, and it sure as hell wasn’t caused by people coming INTO the country!
As Britons, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle.
The way we live was most fundamentally changed by the French, with the destruction of the Feudal system.
This culture has been developed over Centuries of wars, struggles, trials and victories fought by the untold masses of men and Women who laid down any one of the millions of men and women who have sought freedom.
Excuse me?  There’s an unfortunate typo there that appears to have revealed your true opinion.
We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!
I have to disagree with you there, the English language is a composite of all European languages, most notably the old language of the Italians, Latin.  Try speaking without the use of ‘foreign’ languages and you’ll be reduced to a series of grunts and gurgles...
 "In God We Trust" is our National Motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political
slogan.
You’re right about it not being a political slogan, it’s the American national slogan, you really know a lot about this ‘BRITON’ you are defending don’t you...

We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented.
Founded?  I thought we were invaded countless times?  If anyone founded this country with a religious background is was probably the druids!  I’ve got the strangest feeling that America was founded, not your Britain, although I’m sure the natives of American would disagree, if so many of them hadn’t been wiped out by the BRITISH. Hmm, so you’re complaining about so called Johnny Foreigner coming over here and changing our ways, but this country and it’s history that you are so proud of is guilty of ethnic cleansing in America, South America, India (the list goes on and on, honestly)
It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools.
We don’t do we?
If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.
Did you know Muslims and Jews worship the same god?  All three faiths developed from the same roots, hence the name ‘Abrahamic faiths’.
If St. George's cross offends you, or you don't like “A Fair Go", then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet.
Immigration statistics make it very clear that there are far more people leaving this country to move to ‘another part of the planet’ than there are foreigners coming here to live.  Wonder why if it’s so great here?

We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from.
Without Islamic scholars we wouldn’t have maths, the ability to communicate in writing or modern medicine.
This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our National Motto, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great British freedom, "THE RIGHT TO LEAVE".
Pledge?  I don’t remember taking a pledge?  I’m pretty sure that’s America, what British right are you going to defend next?  The right to bear arms as a militia against the British?  And as for the right to leave, that would be a pretty dumb ‘right’ for an Island nation to have wouldn’t it?
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       
If you aren't happy here then f#@* off! We didn't force you to come here.
But I’m sure the wars that your beloved country Britain is currently funding or involved in have a large part in forcing people to flee their ‘homelands’.

You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted. Pretty easy really, when you think about it.
When?  I don’t remember that particular application interview.  Do you gaze sadly at the foreign appeals that pop up on television and reach deep into your pocket to try and help these poor unfortunate people?  Then why do you have a problem with them escaping hell and coming to this country you love so much?

I figure if we all keep passing this to our friends (and enemies) it will also, sooner or later get back to the complainers, lets all try, please.
Too late, FAR too many people will see through this as utter hate filled lies, sadly much like the Daily Mail I’m sure the original author will escape the incitement to racial hatred charge.  I think you’ll find I’m not a ‘complainer’, I’m also not a ‘loony liberal’, I’m just someone gifted with the ability to think for myself and do a little research.

No matter how many times you receive it... please forward it to all you know.
So you can be humiliated repeatedly?  Go for it!

You seem pretty keen on Christianity, regular church goer are you?  Nah, didn’t think so, let’s not forget how much trouble religion can cause in our world, how about the crusades for starters?

How can you have pride in something you didn’t choose to be a part of?  Had a pre-birth meeting with a British welcoming party did you?  Weight up the odds and decide to be born on this lump of rock and mud did you?

Oh, and St. George was from what is now Turkey, he wasn’t English at all!
